5000+ Maties NSFAS Students Are Hungry
Written by Christiaan-brink, and Dad :-)
Earlier this year on the way to a tennis practice my dad and I heard an interesting rebroadcast of a radio interview on Cape Talk, about 5000+ Maties NSFAS Students going hungry in Stellenbosch we were a little shocked that this was going on in our beautiful Stellenbosch. So when a school project required us to support a local charity or cause – #Move4Food became my obvious choice.
The Issue –
I don’t understand the politics involved, for that, you can listen to the interview below – all I know it that the Stellenbosch Community need to be made aware of this ongoing issue!
#Move4Food, a beacon of light for SU’s hungry students – let down by NSFAS
The #Move4Food fundraising campaign was launched in August 2018 with the goal of raising funds to help sustain the food security initiatives at Stellenbosch University (SU). In light of many students at Stellenbosch University who have still not received funding from NSFAS and are going hungry, this morning, Lester Kiewit speaks to #Move4Food fundraiser, Candice Egan.

My dad also found this ticktock on by Mr Lester Kiewit on the issue.
What we are going to do about it
We decided to that we wanted to start collecting donations so we googled around and found Riana Engelbrecht and Candice Egan and decided that we would make a flyer and my parents would send it around on Community WhatsApp groups.
This is my Flyer that I created – (I am learning CANVA it is really cool 😃 )

We are going to be continually collecting donations and then once a week do a drop off at #Move4Food Starting this week – August 26th – 30th please Whatsapp my Dad at 0728618013 to arrange drop off.
How do we help n future?
I am thinking of starting a tennis-based charity – I love tennis – so it would be a good way to help others while having fun! We are looking for a cool name – come help us decide what it should be.
